Leonardo Bonucci is on the verge of joining Fenerbahce, and according to reports in Germany, he has already said goodbye to his teammates and will leave Berlin tomorrow.
Sportitalia had reported Fenerbahce were interested in the Italy international, but German journalist Dominik Schneider of Fussball Transfers claims Bonucci’s transfer to Turkey is a done deal.
The report claims Bonucci has already said goodbye to his Union Berlin teammates and that his medical tests with the Turkish giants have been scheduled.
The Italian centre-back will reportedly leave the German capital tomorrow, Tuesday, January 8, 2024.
Bonucci joined Union Berlin on a free transfer from Juventus in September 2023 after the Serie A giants had frozen him out of the team.
The Italian defender has played 10 games for Union Berlin, scoring one goal.
He had emerged as a transfer target for Roma, but the Giallorossi dropped him a few days ago following protests from fans who didn’t want a former Juventus centre-back to join the team.
The Giallorossi eventually signed Dean Huijsen on loan, still from Juventus.
