Brazilian keeper Bento confirms Inter representatives have checked his availability but insists the Nerazzurri have not made any official proposal yet.
Bento is among Inter’s transfer targets for next season, as club director Dario Baccin confirmed on Wednesday.
Bento, currently under contract with Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense, has also confirmed interest from the Serie A giants in his latest interview with ESPN Brazil.
Bento confirms Inter approach as transfer rumours intensify
“What I know is speculation. They [Inter] only asked, they didn’t make an official proposal,” said the Brazil international.
“I’m happy to have my name mentioned by them. It’s the result of my work and my performance here at Athletico. Let’s see it [a transfer] actually happens. I have to sit down with the club and my agents so that, if it has to happen, it’s for everyone’s good.”
Football Italia transfer expert Matteo Moretto recently confirmed that Bento is open to joining the Nerazzurri, even though some Premier League clubs have also shown interest in the 24-year-old.
Athletico PR’s asking price for Bento is around € 20m-25m, and Inter are planning to sign the exciting goalkeeper this summer and let him gain experience under the guidance of first-choice keeper Yann Sommer.
Bento’s contract with Athletico PR expires in June 2026. He has made 24 appearances across all competitions, conceding 14 goals and keeping 13 clean sheets. This past March, Bento made his senior debut with the Brazil national team.
